The most considered piece in the collection. Coral climbs from the hem in dense sequin work, thinning as it rises into scattered starfish, crabs and shells hand-embroidered across a soft seafoam ground. A deep V neckline sits between long ribbon ties that knot at the shoulder. The skirt falls full and unbroken to the floor.

Why we like it

The embellishment is graded — heaviest at the hem, dissolving to almost nothing at the bodice — so the gown moves with weight at the bottom and lightness up top. It’s the kind of detail you only get from work done by hand, and it’s why this piece takes weeks rather than days to make. Seafoam and coral is also a far more interesting proposition than another black column at a black-tie table.

How to style it

Let it carry the room. Bare shoulders, hair off the face, a flat sandal or the lowest possible heel. The Oceans Apart Bralette, sits neatly underneath — the rust picks up the coral in the sequin work, and the deep V is cut to let a little of the lace show. Nothing at the neck; the V and the tie straps are the neckline. A small clutch in coral or gold if you want to echo the embellishment. For a wedding abroad, add nothing at all.
