The Valerie Kaftan by Carolina K is an off-white midi shirt dress covered in colorful sea-inspired embroidery. Two columns of appliqué motifs run down the front: scallop shells, fish, mermaids, flowers, seahorses, and spiral shells, in red, orange, blue, and mint. It has a scalloped collar, a button front, and short, wide sleeves, all edged in red scallops, with a matching scalloped hem. The back yoke carries a flower between two seahorses. Ties at the neck and waist end in colored beads and shell pieces, and the waist tie is optional, so the dress can be worn cinched or loose. It has hidden side pockets, is made from 100% organic cotton poplin, and is unlined.
